GeekDad!
One of my favorite blogs, GeekDad at Wired.com has a fun and thoughtful review of the Accidental Adventures series up. You can read the whole thing here, but I wanted to share my favorite part:
"To my mind, these books remind me of the story a grade schooler might imagine as they looked at the pictures in a National Geographic Magazine. As a parent, that is fantastic. If Alexander London can pique my kid’s interest in learning about different cultures, I am all for it." [read the rest]
In writing this series, part of my goal (aside from telling a ripping yarn about two very very very reluctant adventurers) was to capture some of the excitement and wonder that one feels encountering a new culture or seeing a new land, an experience I had first had in the pages of National Geographic. Once my curiosity was piqued, I spent hours and hours staring at Atlases, imaging all the places I would got when I was older. I was lucky enough to get to do some of that travel and I hope I will be lucky enough to do more, but it really did all begin with the wonder of stories that turned me into a pre-adolescent armchair anthropolgist. I hope readers will find such a spark in my stories.

Thx. Bryn Mawr school
glad you like them!
I'm glad you enjoy the books, especially bc I went to school right across the street from Bryn Mawr! It's nice to know that Oliver and Celia get to hang out down in Roland Park sometimes, even though I moved away.
