Y'ALLFestNovemeber  9th

Charleston, SC
I'll be doing a few different panels at YALLFEST to talk about my Middle Grade writing (The Accidental Adventures series and Dog Tags series) and a return of the OPENLY YA event, to talk about Proxy, young adult literature, the the evolution of LGBT characters in YA fiction from maudlin boys who don't end well because of being gay to maudlin boys who don't end well because of killer robots in a vast conspiracy set in a nightmarish dystopia, who just happen to be gay.
We've come a long way.

June 19-22, 2013

In celebration of Gay Pride, join David Levithan, Bill Konigsberg, Alex London and Aaron Hartzler for a series of events as we read from and sign our latest YA books—all of which feature gay teens in very different kinds of stories. We'll discuss growing up, sexuality, the evolution of gay characters in YA literature, and our own influences and anxieties in writing.

The four of us will be doing a little whistle-stop tour beginning Wednesday, June 19, and the amazing A.S. King will join us for a chat at Clinton Book Shop on Friday, June 21st. Hope to see you along the way!
